The Arena is an adventure novel, set in a quiet village, surrounded by farms and powerful colonels.
 Antônio and Juliana grew up together on the farm. Close friendship turned to love in maturity. Among them, there is Colonel Horacio, responsible for the separation of the two. However, nothing stopped them from coming together again. Antônio thirsts for justice for the unresolved issues of the past. He and his beloved go to great lengths to unravel the colonel's dark secrets and resolve the many outstanding family issues.
 The fictional city of Umbaúba has the air of a typical country town, it is the scene of many encounters, reunions and police actions.
